DELHI TRAFFIC TODAY: HANUMAN JANMOTSAV CELEBRATION LIKELY TO CAUSE DISRUPTIONS, CHECK ALTERNATE ROUTES AND DIVERSIONS

Delhi Traffic Advisory for Hanuman Janmotsav:  Thousands of devotees are expected to throng the Hanuman Temple located at Delhi’s Baba Kharak Singh Marg to celebrate Hanuman Janmotsav. Owing to the suspected traffic congestion, the Delhi Police on Monday issued an advisory to ensure seamless movement of traffic in the area. According to Delhi Traffic Police, approximately 50,000-60,000 devotees could gather for this event. Additionally, a procession will also be held from 3 pm to 6 pm. About 1,000-1,500 people, including seven chariots and band parties, will participate in the procession, which could affect traffic on surrounding roads.

Traffic Restrictions:

Parking or stopping any vehicle will not be restricted on Khadak Singh Marg and Outer Connaught Circle at Connaught Place. Vehicles parked on the aforementioned roads will be removed, and action will be taken. Vehicles towed away will be parked in the traffic pit near the CNG pump on Kali Bari Marg.

The Delhi Police have asked people going to ISBTs, railway stations and airport to exercise caution and plan their journey while managing their time properly.

During Hanuman Janmotsav, devotees gather in temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman to offer prayers, perform special rituals, chant hymns, and sing bhajans dedicated to him. The celebration often includes elaborate decorations of the temples and the idol of Hanuman, as well as the distribution of prasad (sacred food offering).
